Im extremely upset and scared. I went to MHMR to fill out paperwork and I'm very upset. MHMR told me their doctors won't prescribe me Xanax. That they'd taper me down and get me off of it. No Xanax? The one thing that keeps my sanity because no antipsychotic does anything for me? He told me to use my primary insurance and go to non Medicaid doctors and I'd have a higher chance of getting them refilled. He said the ER might not prescribe them and I'll have to go to the hospital. Why? So I can be in withdrawals there? No. I first have to see a case worker on Aug 25th and then they make an appointment that'll take a couple of weeks to wait. I'll be long out of my medicine before even the case worker. I can stretch them out until this weekend, if I'm lucky. He did say what my doctor is doing is considered patient abandonment. Why are doctors scared to prescribe addictive medications to people who know the risk and don't abuse medication? Why should we have to suffer because of the people who abuse them? Why can't they look at my records and see that I've been on them for 4/5 years now. I can't simply take away the only thing that keeps me calm.
