Always work attire. When I first started going to therapy with my current T, I went straight from work, so I always looked super professional, almost like I was going to a work interview. My time has slid back a bit, and although I have time to head home after work, I still wear my work clothes to my appt. Not that my T would judge me, but I feel like in general there is less judgment on work attire since it's not as much as your personality as what you wear in your free time (although for me, it's the same). So I feel more comfortable. On the flip side, I think it prevents me from feeling like I'm in a relaxed environment where anything goes (I work for a large reputable conservative company- so I'm always buttoned up, in black dress pants, black heels, etc). I just can't make the switch. Which is interesting bc I have a hard time opening up, so maybe I should... Just can't though. Too self-conscious.
