I think it's a blessing in disguise. She sounds like someone to avoid. Let her get the thing, it will work out in your favour if you really think about it.
Just by you describing how you had to drop everything to be there for her, and how she can't even answer a text once a month, I'm already getting a picture in my mind of the type of human being she is (never mind woman), and it's an ugly one!
