Hi Lexy

Unfortunately the mentally well don't know what it is like to be depressed. Sometimes I explained to them by asking them to recall the very worst day of their lives when they wanted the earth to swallow them up and then to imagine what it would be like to feel that way. Always. I read something which said that the well people all experience minor symptoms of major psychiatric disorders and trying to identify with them on those particular feelings would help. To break down stigma. Perhaps education from the classroom would be a good start. There is no reason to be ashamed, we would not be if we had heart problems, etc. so why be ashamed of depression? Take care. I hope and pray you have a really great day. God bless and best wishes from your friend Francis
Thanks for this!
