Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you have had any experiences with not as much cognitive impairment, but more so with just mentally slowing down since taking lamictal. My thoughts and emotions used to be ALL over the place and since taking the lamictal, I feel as if my mind and emotions have overall just calmed down and slowed down, and in a good way. The overall tone of my depression has changed- it used to feel awful but would also become sort of frantic and I would feel really unhinged, where as now it's just this deep, slow darkness. I also did a TON of DBT during the year after starting the lamictal, so I'm not really sure if these changes are due to the lamictal, the DBT, or a combination thereof. I was dx with MDD but currently don't have a definitive mood diagnosis. I was put on the lamictal as the doctors thought it would be helpful for both my depression and general impulse control. Just curious if others have had this experience.
and another related question: any experiences with it sort of pooping out on you? It worked very well for about 2 years but then I ended up in a deep depression and I had to go up on the dose. And it's now working wonderfully again!
