I have this really loud air conditioner and even when I put it on the fan only setting or the lowest setting that it has, it still sounds very loud. My mom and brother both insist that it sounds quiet and that my mom's air conditioner is the one that is loud, but my air conditioner is keeping me awake at night and I have to cover my ears.

Do you hear things louder and then everybody around you says that that they can't hear what you hear? I even put the air conditioner up to the phone for my friend to hear and even he agrees that it's super loud! Because of this loud air conditioner, I'm not getting any sleep and I've had to cancel a few driving lessons this summer.
