Baliska. Hang onto hope, and if you can now sleep without the seroquel, and feel rested after a good amount and refreshed. You are on the right track. I don't know exactly how long it takes. I am seeing a difference in improved body shape , weight / muscle replacing fat, and the swelling going down as I ensure a lifestyle with minimal stress in environment, enjoyment of hobbies. Picking the right friends.. etc.
It sounds like your partner needs education and understanding of the illness, meds, skills, symptoms and being compassionate and supportive.
Loving someone with bipolar disorder (2ND EDITION). Author Julie Fast. Understanding and helping your partner. This is a book I highly recommend for your partner and overall relationshp.
