The article is from a publication in the UK but the research is recent by scientists at Northwestern University in Illinois.

The research is not advocating destabilizing people. It accounts for a neurobiological mechanism that can validate the experience of repressed or hidden memories, which has been the source of conflict among professionals for some time. There are some who still think repressed memories are a load of crap. This research shows otherwise. Hence: validation for the DID experience.
