I have had two absence seizures. Both times were due to drug over-intoxication. My last one was two months ago. I did "zone" out like you said, but I also had many other symptoms: hot and then suddenly cold chills, pins and needles all over, extreme anxiety (not the same as a panic attack), getting dizzy when watching TV because I couldn't tolerate any sort of movement, deja vu...these were all some symptoms I had right before the seizure. After the seizure, I was very tired and took a long nap.
