I'm on Medicaid too, and have a good trauma therapist for my PTSD but it took a long time to find her. I'm thinking I saw my regular therapist for 3 years before I found my trauma therapist. Actually, it was my regular therapist who told me about the trauma T who joined the group or I would never have known.
It was frustrating looking for so long but I was glad I kept at it. I would say don't give up. Keep looking. Eventually you'll find somebody helpful.

Yes it is very hard. (And yes, medicaid is what i meant, or rather this states equivalent). I dont have a lot of choice but to keep trying. I wish I at least had the choice to give up even if it was a bad one.
Ive contacted a few more people. They werent listed as taking my insurance but I gave it a shot anyways. 3/4 contacted me to say no, they dont take my insurance. However, a counselor trained in emdr and a part of isstd enthusiastically (?? Wrong word) called me back and would like to speak with me. We'll see how that goes.
