update on my wildlife encounters>>>>>>

Just last night, I was out by the pool, & had my doggie on a short leash to try & slow his wanderings down...wasn't too successful I guess. I noticed he had been away for awhile, so started calling for him......there he came running up to the pool decking with something that looked like a huge dead branch or something. He put is down on the deck & I went over to look at it......eeeeeewwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was an very old dead raccoon with not much left since I am sure the turkey vultures had already cleaned most of it.

It took me a few seconds to realize what it was, & all I could do was scold him & tell him "bad, bad, bad, bad doggie" "bad, bad Leo". He was so proud of his find, but I had to get it picked up before he grabbed it & ran away with it. The only place I could find to put it safely was a garbage bag, but I am not happy about having that around my house until the trash pick up comes next friday.

I know I am going to put him on a long leash & tye it up this time.......can't handle those kind of presents. It is amazing how proud they are of things like that.....but that was just too much to handle for me.

One thing I found was that in the past, I would have had my husband handle that, being alone, I have to figure out how to handle everything that comes up & do something about it to the best of my ability.....I am getting much better at not depending on anyone else to take care of anything.....& it does feel good.
