Unless your HTML/CGI-BIN home directory is the script's default:

/home/httpd/cgi-bin/oj/ojauth

then it is likely you haven't customized the script's directory structure as you need to do for it to work properly.

You do this in the oj.cfg file by looking for the $progdir variable and setting that to wherever your OpenJournal script resides.

You also have to ensure that the Web server can write to this sub directory, so that's the changing permissions part.

This directory tracks the user who is currently logged in and ensures they are a valid user and haven't "timed out" for security purposes.
