Trust your feelings. You know what you have been through and what you are feeling now. What you describe is a lot like what I have felt. The emotions almost always come to you before you confront the facts of the memories. The emotions are part of your memory and you probably suppressed a lot of those emotions until now.
You can be safe now. Keep reaching out for help and keep believing in yourself. Only by doing that can you comfort your inner child and bring the peace you deserve to yourself.
