I have never been on Cipralex but have been on Effexor (now a generic version) for some years - it has helped me.

One thing to watch out for is that should you decide to discontinue Effexor it is best that it is done slowly with close supervision from your prescribing doctor - the side-effects of unsupervised discontinuation can be very unpleasant.
