Some people are more sensitive to caffeine than others. Those energy drinks are really popular, but they're full of caffeine (and usually sugar), and are really bad for you. Plus, you get energy from them, but then you crash. I don't know about any doctor's recommendations, but I'd guess they'd say, the less caffeine, the better. You'd want very little in your diet, if any.
They just had a news report last night saying a study suggests that drinking soda, whether diet or not, raises your risk for heart disease. I don't know if it's because of the caffeine or what; they didn't say. I certainly drink too much of it.
I drink about two liters of soda a day, maybe more. I'm sure getting rid of soda in my diet (even though most of it is diet) would be highly beneficial to me.
