I love positive people too and I am one. But I have to watch that I don't force that optimism on someone who needs a compassionate ear and companionable silence rather than a solution, which they may not be ready for at that point.

Oh. I see. I was just thinking about my husband, who is a very positive/optimistic person, but he still listens when I talk to him. I have a tendency to be negative, so it's nice when he tells me things will get better, or reminds me (if I'm depressed or something) that I haven't always felt that way.
