My late stepdad had visiting nurses, his final months. Had to have special air freshener from the hospital because of his illness and deterioration. He'd sometimes snap a few angry words, yet was quick to retract, apologize and explain the pain he was in. He had morphine, it was more hallucinations that we were all dealing with. My mother, myself, my grandmother played a role in caregiving. He was a large man, and it wasn't easy with dressings and bedding. His mom was staying there too, along this with early onset dementia.
Have the doctors tried celexa or similar? Extending my sympathy ((((gentle hugs))))
