I am married and have male friends, my husband has female friends. We have respect, love and loyalty. We have no problems.

If a friend were to want more than friendship from either of us then there would be a problem for the friend wanting more, I would imagine him or her would be left out of our life.

I do believe it's very possible to have close friends of the opposite sex.
