Possibly. I've been on it for about six years now. A few years ago my job changed insurance and I was no longer able to see my pdoc and had to find another one. The new one noticed my depressive issues and focused on that instead and decided I didn't need the Trileptal and just an AD was fine. BAD MISTAKE! As the dose got lower and lower, I was irritable and feeling sick, just a complete mess. I found a new pdoc after that and we had to bring it back up since I was stable on it for many years prior to seeing him.

I will say this: when I am given another brand of the oxcarbazapine I feel sick the next day. I have a horrible headache and I feel like crap. Ever since then I make sure I stay on a specific brand of the generic Trileptal.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. We all are different and react differently to various medications. I hope you feel better, and if you don't talk to the pharmacist or pdoc and see what's going on.
