I'm currently in a relationship in the "devalued" stage, and I don't know quite yet how to handle the information. I am relieved that I finally have an answer, but scared as to what comes next. My family and significant other know about the condition, but I they are all taking it very lightly. My doctor said I am on the high functioning scale of BDP. I am in the process of establishing a therapist; I am looking around due to insurance and financial difficulties. Do I need to leave my relationship, move back home, ...? I don't trust myself to make these decisions without the proper knowledge of what to expect. I would like to know what everyone else's response was to their first diagnosis. Any tips or advice on where to go from here?

Thank You!
I have had this DX for many years so I know all to well the "devalued stage". My experience is to get into DBT, hold off any major decisions. I have continually fluctuated between the two. Sometimes I know I am in it others not so much. DBT will make your life so much easier, go to class, get the skills and practice until you are "blue in the face".
