I started sitting on the couch for both of them, then insisted on a chair. This means dragging the chair out before we start, so I can put it wherever I like. I just like chairs better than couches. Usually I stay the typical 5 feet away, though as one of them has a habit of infringing on my personal space, I give her more room.
