My T's office has two chairs facing each other and a couch. She sits in the one chair, and I sit in the other. We're a comfortable distance away.

My marriage counselor's office has a leather couch and loveseat in like an L shape, then a chair across from the couch. I sit on the side of the loveseat closest to the couch, my H on the other side of me. MC sits on the couch, generally around the middle cushion, sometimes a bit closer to me. It can be awkward in some ways, because H can easily look back and forth between me and MC, and MC can do the same with H and I. But I kind of have to choose to be looking at MC or my H (or the floor, on occasion!) So more like watching a tennis match for me, I guess.

With my p-doc, she recently got a new office with a couch and loveseat. I sit in the middle of the couch, and she sits in her desk chair. it feels like she's really far away from me, but I don't want to be like "Could you move closer please?" Since that seems kinda weird!
