I truly do not know of anyone who wasn't "bullied" (by today's terms) in school... from the 50s on to now. Just because it has a new name doesn't change the facts.

IMO the "bullying" focus cannot be just about the one doing the bullying. As I said, we were all called names, pushed into a toilet stall, tripped, lied about, etc growing up... some didn't do well because of it, others let it roll off their backs like water on a duck. So we should not just give the bully what he/she wants most: attention, but also give the one being bullied the tools and skills to be able to withstand it and let it roll.

We all had different mechanisms to handle the "bully". They still work today. This is nothing new, and indeed it's worse because society as a whole is worse... but mental health support is stronger and more available than ever before also. Society has created the weak-minded person and it has also created and allowed the bully to succeed.

There are more good-natured, sociable people in the world than there are bullies. I suspect there might be the "same" number of bullies as there as mentally unable to handle life. Let's provide therapy for both.
