Prozac did zippo for me at 20 and 40 mg. At 60, it caused hallucinations, both aural and visual. That was the end of Prozac. It never had an effect on my mood.

I've been on Effexor for 5 years and love it. For the first 2 or 3 weeks, it completely wired me -- very hyperactive, etc. Once that went away, I haven't had any more side effects in all this time. I don't remember what dose I started on, 75 mg I think. Eventually I got to where I am now, 375 mg (the max). Like anything else you take for a long time, I got habituated to it and had to add a tricyclic (desipramine, aka Norpramin) to give the Effexor a kick in the butt. That happened in January of this year and I have been doing pretty good most of the time.

Of course, other people's experiences could be completely different! But those are mine.
