I don't know how to quote posts but I think that things are different in different places. I was admitted once for self harm but there were close calls other times. I went to the ER when I was 18 and the social worker said he was going to admit me until he talked to my dad. I've only gone to one hospital that didn't think about hospitalizing me for self harm and just sent me home (this was also the worst incident I had).

But, in regards to your question, I don't think the crisis line is very likely to call anyone. I think if you are an extreme danger to yourself such as attempting while talking to them they would call.

I think that you would be safe to call them and see if they can help you. Their goal is to try and talk you through the urges so that you don't feel as big of an urge to harm yourself.

I've called the crisis line a few times and never had them call someone.
