prozac is how I found out I was bipolar. I had taken it for PMDD in my twenties and it worked amazing for my anxiety/depression, but after my 1st kid was born I went on it for "postpartum depression" and it spun me out, bad. in retrospect I was having mixed symptoms and the prozac made them much worse. I would be very careful with it and make sure you are on a mood stabilizer if other SSRI's have triggered you like that. I did okay on it with lamictal at the same time, but as soon as I got a good pdoc he took me off the prozac immediately. it is known to cause problems for BP patients with mixed or manic features.
