I've done some reckless shopping with lump sums. I blew $65K on junk. I bought two sets of jumper cables when i don't have a car. They were just on sale, so i bought them. I blew another $30K on rock star clothes when my taste in clothes is more to the subtle-side.

It never got so bad that i was in debt tho. But with my 50th birthday looming and nothing saved for retirement i am getting worried.

I heard about one woman who bought 17 chainsaws!
