Sorry if this is obviously written some place, I've looked for it, I've missed it.

What is the guideline about replying to someone you have on ignore?

The ignore feature prevents you from 1)seeing their post without taking an extra, conscious step 2) having someone you have on ignore from posting in your thread

Is it therefore not in the spirit of the guideline to quote and respond to a person's post if you have them on ignore? Or if they have you on ignore. How is that ignoring them?

While I'm asking... the ignore feature does not prevent someone from "thanks for this" nor "hugs" a post -- whether you or they, or both have one on ignore. Is using this okay?

Also, the VM allows posting to and from those on ignore. PMs are blocked.

Just would like some clarity, as I'm sure no one wants to blatantly break a rule.
