[QUOTE=(JD);4690829]
this issue comes up frequently and there are many posts in this forum about this...and the posts about this do seem to get lost underneath other pages...
short version when you put someone on ignore you dont see any of their posts ....unless.....you either remove them from your list, or you are not logged in.
the only way you can post a reply to someone that is on your ignore list is by removing them from your list. (otherwise you cant see their post nor the reply button or space to make your reply in)
anyone that is on your own ignore list can post with anyone elses threads and posts but can not post with in a thread that you ....start....
example if I put you on ignore I will not see any of your posts/threads unless I take you off my ignore list or if I am not logged in.
if you are on my ignore list you can not post with in any posts/threads that I make.
but that does not prevent you from discussing the same issues presented in my threads\posts because you can start your own posts/threads to discuss the same topics\issues that you may find in my threads\posts
example if I start a thread on dissociation and you are on my ignore list so you cant participate in my threads. you can start your own thread on dissociation. therefore my putting you on ignore is not a punishment against you and is not preventing you from posting what you want to post.
a step further ... my putting you on ignore does not prevent me from making posts /threads and does not prevent me from replying to other peoples posts\threads.
hope that helps JD.
also may I suggest that the moderators make a sticky post containing information about the use of the ignore list. questions come up so often and each time the threads about the ignore list get lost underneath the pages of this forum, maybe making a sticky informational post so that its one of the first things someone sees when entering this board will make it easier for people to find what they are looking for.
