Sometimes P is right, living on a campus is really something you should seriously consider. There's more to it than just being safe, convenient living arrangements though.
You'll be in much the same situation as everyone else there (
living away from home properly for the first time & studying) & because of that it'll open up opportunities to meet friends. Living in an apartment you would miss out on that side of university life... most people here will go into halls
(dorms) for their first year & then move into an apartment in their second year.
There may be some downsides to living in halls, shared bathrooms, hearing people going about late at night etc. but as I said, you'll meet friends & it's a good environment in which to first get used to living away from home. It'll be less stressful than living by yourself in an apartment. Think of it as a step towards living fully independently.
Obviously having sz is a huge hurdle but I think with the right support network you'll be able to manage it
i.e. seeing your therapist regularly & keeping in touch with your parents. Also as you said you'll have access to the university mental health services so I'm sure they'd be offer to help if need be too.
I think you should bring this up with your therapist, I'm sure they'll have a lot of good advice to give you....
