I wrote a while ago when manic as my pdoc was concerned about my reputation and talking about hospital to protect it. But I managed to be convincing that it wasn't that obvious at work. Turns out I was wrong and everyone had made the connection that I was manic. Given I work in mental health I guess it shouldn't be too surprising!

But the good part of all this is that all the psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health nurses who now know I have bipolar - not one of them had treated me differently. They still respect me, listen to my opinions, come to me for advice.

I am impressed with them for their lack of stigma and judgement. I thought it worth sharing, as sometimes I know people feel they are thought less of for being unwell, even by the mental health professionals.
Thanks for this!
