Hi ss... I'm not sure of your question... because to me, being able to cough the bad stuff out is a benefit... if you are taking a cough suppressant , then yeah, it could work against you.

I have terrible allergies to medications (my latest being Gabitril) and have had many serious sinus and chest infections, and yes, bronchitus all caused by the allergic reaction to the medicine...

I would tell my MD.. and get a shot to boost a medicine like Levaquin to cut through the infection.
