I responded to a intiative I received to an online personal I posted a long time ago . . . then sent out four more ice-breakers to ads I've had on my short list. My personal, BTW, is off-putting to say the least; no photo and about two sentences that say I'm looking for a pal to enjoy jazz with, and I don't believe in instant anything. It takes a courageous soul to respond to that. In fact, right after I posted it, the service sent me a little note asking if I'd like some coaching about how to write a more inviting self-introduction. Jeez, I guess not -- I've managed to earn my living as a write at various times.

Maybe kicking up my heels in Savannah for a day really was good for me.
