a minor in therapy or seeing a psychiatrist can affect a court case where part of the proceedings revolves around the minors issues...example one parent wants the child in therapy and seeing a psychiatrist and the other doesnt, one wants the minor on meds and the other doesmt. which parent is more capable of caring for a minor in treatment for a medical or mental issue... not to mention in court cases here in america the minors are given a lawyer called a guardian ad litem. this is the person who looks out for the minors best interests as long as the court case is active, in some cases, its no longer the parents decision of whether the minor can have mental and physical health treatment, the parents must get permission from the court and the guardian ad litem for things like non emergency mental and physical health care, until the court case is finished.
my suggestion is if you would like to continue to seek mental health treatment contact your lawyer, they will be able to either get the process started or petition the court on your behalf, thats what they are there for....to look out for you and whats best for you through this process.
