I think there is a big difference between seeing a therapist or being medicated...However the above statement is true, generally. I have disclosed my condition (and later thought about it) - I work for an Indian casino and they generally(it is the native tradition) hold us in high regard and would never fire us unless we do something that alienates or angers customers. Or when medicated we cannot perform mentally. Even then we can take a med leave (I am planning to take Nov/Dec off) However my situation is unique. In hindsight I should not have disclosed it) but I am planning to leave in 3 years anyway....
I feel the same way. One of my mentors told me once...when it comes to work and disclosing personal information, never say what you can think, and never write down what you can say.
That's my guideline now.
I'm amazed at what my co-workers disclose, and often, I watch as it comes back to bite them later.

Friends, therapists, lawyers, and pets - share freely. Bosses, co-workers, and assistants...proceed with caution. About anything besides WORK!
