Yes I have a real name and keep my tag name instead, not because my avatar makes me something that I'm not. More to keep privacy like so many others here. If I were to meet an online fake especially here (for those who have been here know already that we had one and I was monitored for some time because of what happened, may even say I was on suspension from work lol) I would want to show all this fakeness. Although I wouldn't as it would get me kicked off but you get my point!!!

One could also argue that doing things like this is dependent on rather or not one's narcissist traits are more covert rather than overt.
With that being said, while I agree that a "true" narcissist doesn't use avatars to increase supply, I don't see how somebody with more covert traits who uses avatars to "enhance" how their real identities appear to the rest of the world, such as with my fake female Facebook profiles (which also have financial incentive behind them in the form of click baiting men to websites that pay me money BTW) makes anybody less narcissistic.
Then again, despite having 6/9 of the traits required to be diagnosed NPD, since most of my traits are covert rather than overt and the DSIM so foolishly excludes covert narcissism as a separate diagnosis, I can't be labeled a "true narcissist" by their standards.
Also consider that some of my behavior (in particular the female online game avatars) aren't motivated by narcissism, but by sadism because I enjoy preying on desperate nerdy neckbeard virgin guys in online gaming only to break their heart later, and let's face it, men don't have anywhere near the kind of sexual power that women have.
