I have a 17-inch Toshiba laptop that I mostly keep plugged in. In the past two weeks, I am having trouble with the power.

1. The battery is two years old.

2. The battery seems to be discharging, even when the power cord is plugged in. However, the discharge may be because the power plug jiggles lose.

3. The power cord is having trouble staying in the "on" and "recharge" positions. I have to keep jiggling the plug, and of course it jiggles into non-working positions as I type, so sometimes I'm not aware that the electrical connection isn't working, or the recharge isn't working.

QUESTION: SHOULD I BUY A NEW POWER CORD OR A NEW BATTERY OR BOTH? I am looking for the least expensive option.
