Hi all, new here and my divorce has been finalized for a few months now - but have been separated from ex for almost a year.

I've started a new job, moved with my baby to a new place and basically things are civil with the ex as we Co-parent long distance.

My lawyer is not formally on a retainer as he said to just call him for anything anytime I need help but so far so good and we've been in touch socially once or twice.

Recently though, we had a meal that was more social than business and now I'm wondering if I should officially ask him to refer me to his colleague so we can get to know each other socially without any ethical problems should things go further than just being friendly .

Any one has any experience or input?
