I just got approved for my disability and it took like 28 months. For food you can hit up different food banks and churches during the month. For power we have had Salvation Army help pay the bills. Also like in our area after a certain time of the year if you have kids at home they can't shut off your power I don't know if this does not work if you have no children at home. If you get denied the first time for SSDI put the next set of paperwork in right away. I was denied twice and on the last and final appeal I hired a lawyer and we won. Good luck to you.
