I haven't been feeling well today, emotionally, that is. I googled advice on releasing emotional pain, and am doing an exercise as we speak where I need your help. I'd be forever grateful if you can help me out
I first had to feel the emotion fully, then locate it in my body, then name it. What I'm dealing with is fear. I then had to write an account of what happened when this emotion occured - from my own perspective, from someone else's who was there, and then, from the POV of a news reporter covering the event. Here's what I got:
Me: I'm just SOOO scared!!!!! I don't want to look at dad!!!!!
My dad: I just want to kill that child..
Reporter: Father wanted to kill his child - child covered her face with her hands
Phew, this is awful, I know.. Anyway, it says now to share this with someone sympathetic who will understand and has my best interests at heart. I'm hoping someone here will agree to be that person..
I think I just need a genuine human response to this.. And maybe just an 'I hear you!'
