EXACTLY. It sounds silly. But I want to feel special and have the power to make the people who've hurt me go eat dirt. But that only happens in the movies. I think something like harry potter really hits on those feelings. I've read that it's common for people from abusive backgrounds to have fantasies as kids about some rescuer saving and fixing everything and seeing how special and important they are.
