I've been stable for a good year and this was the first manic episode I've had in a while and I was not used to detecting the signs (how quickly we forget). Don't go off your medication if your doing well...it's tempting (trust me..I would love the extra $150 a month I pay for medication)..but my mental stability is more important for me and more so my wife and son.

No apologies needed. You're in a safe place here where you can rant if you want to. I've been off my meds for years out of total frustration from trying to find the right cocktail and eventually giving up! I have mood stabilizers that I still use at times, but it's also helping me lose weight so that's a plus for me. Anyway, good luck!
