Hello RamblinClementine: Yes, I have both depression & anxiety. At the moment, I'd say my anxiety is significantly worse than my depression. Today, I was baking some bread & I got behind on some other stuff I needed to get done... result... major anxiety attack! I HATE myself when I get like that... oh shucks... I hate myself all of the time anyways...
I'm a black tea drinker mostly, although I also enjoy a cup of coffee sometimes too. I suppose the caffeine in these beverages probably adds to my anxiety level. But, hey, it's the only vice I have left! Besides, where I live, you need something hot to drink for a significant portion of the year.
I used to drink alcoholic beverages. Truth be told, I LOVE the taste of most liquors. But I all but gave it up when I went on antidepressants. I'm not on them anymore, but I still don't drink much of anything alcoholic anymore. It sounds to me like, if one drink makes you anxious, & it takes more to blunt the effect, perhaps not indulging to begin with is the best solution. My best wishes to you...
