The words "they said" and "Apparently" in the above statement makes me a bit wary. Was that really how she put it? Was she being ironic? Was it taken out of context? I don't always trust media when refering to what a celeb said or did not say. Just as I don't always trust what someone relates to me about what happened at an event I was not present at. That said, it does sound like what she said was offensive enough to make the crown boo her. So it migth very well be so.
I must say I don't really spend a lot of time following Madonnas doings, and I don't know much about her opinions. Nevertheless I am aware that she has a huge fan-base, and she is a public figure because of her fame. And celebs should be a bit more thougthful about what they are putting into the minds of their followers. To say something like that is really offensive, and I think she is smart enough to know that. Whatever her reason for expressing an opinion like that is beyond me. And yes, who knows, maybe she did it to get a bit of limeligth on herself. Or maybe she really holds the opinion that MI = "bad". She is clearly a person who does not shy away from controversy. that is clear from her career so far at least. She comes across as an extremely driven, amitious and high-acheiving woman. Not sure if that means that she has a mental issue. But people like that are often not the most sensitive nor pleasant people...
