There was one teacher (who wasn't my math teacher but another math teacher on the faculty) who took me on as a student on the side. She would stay after school, sometimes for four hours, and privately tutor me. She wasn't paid for it. It was out of her own kindness and generosity. Her belief in me helped me believe in myself. Glad that you had someone like that to take time out of her schedule and tutor you privately-even though she wasn't your teacher. It's great to hear stories about the few good people who do things for people of their own volition.
