I had a coworker that had migraines and I showed her the accupressure point on the hands so you can lightly massage it while you are laying down or sitting up.

The secret is to lightly massage in the webbing between your thumb and index finger until you find a sensitive point. Then focus your attention there for 5 - 10 minutes on each hand using light touch up the point of pleasure and pain, it feels good but it hurts a little. Pressing too hard is counter productive.
If unsure find the point between thumb and forefinger and just do very light massage.
