With the sounds I need a few seconds too realize that my kids are in front of me but it sounds like they're beside me and a distance away.
I also have noticed that things can be distorted. If someone says something it can sound like a growl from a monster or other weird this. These aren't things I've ever had a doctor bring up and I haven't read about it before but it's happens 10-15 times a day and comes on bursts through the year.
I did have the theory that because they are real and true sounds being misheard it may stem from my irritating fall allergies.
I'm glad YOU posted this! I wasn't sure if it's psychological or physical, something wrong in my ears. I doubted it when it first started happening but I knew it was real the day my mom yelled at me. Her voice sounded like a woman with an Indian accent and she seemed angry. She wasn't angry though, she yelled because we were outside and a big storm was about to hit. Weirdly, a few minutes before that we passed an Indian lady and for a second I thought she was going to yell at us for using the high school track, but she never spoke. So something mental must be going on? I don't know if it's related to hallucinations or something totally different.

I also get olfactory hallucinations and I went outside and smelled dog poop by my next door neighbor's backyard. They don't have dogs, no one ever walks their dogs back there, and there was no poop anywhere. My yard has a lot of poop that needs to be cleaned up but I didn't smell it when I came back in. The smell thing could just be me being paranoid but I'm going to keep an eye on it.

I saw my pdoc a couple days ago and I totally forgot to bring it up. It happens, disturbs me for a minute, then I forget about it.
