Running is very good activity. It releases natural endorphines giving a high like feeling. I got addicted to it, but it's better than substances...
Beginning feels just terribly boring and annoying but once you get it going, maybe after month of so, it'll start to feel good.
Just keep very slow pace in beginning an take it easy. 2-3 times a week. 20 minutes first 2 weeks, then 40 minutes. You should start enjoying it in 40 minute runs after you've been running 15-20 minutes.
