I found this term amusing "Treatment Resistant Depression"

Why? Let's see. I've been in treatment for depression for almost 10 years now. I've seen all kinds of therapist, psychiatrist, psychologist and I've taken all kinds of medicines. To be honest, I'm not sure if i really suffer from depression, rather, my life just really sucks.

This is how I liken treatment:
I go home, pick up a hammer and hit myself in the hand. I then go to the doctor and say "Doctor, my hand hurts." So, he gives me medicine. My hand feels a little better, and then I smash it again with the hammer. I see him again and he ask, "How is your hand?" I say "It really hurts."" So, he gives me a different medicine. It goes on and on and on and on.

The solution is obvious, however, often, since life is so complicated and there are so many factors that can affect or mood, it is difficult to just "remove the hammer."
