Valentina, did you stay on the meds and it eventually stopped falling out? That happened to me years ago on Valproic Acid. I was losing clumps at first (apparently a very rare side effect) but it stopped and I took it for years until it gave me pancreatitis (an even rarer side effect).
I don't even look up side effects when i start new meds anymore. I don't want to even know. I wait till they happen, then look them up. Almost always, on a very low dose, I get the rare side effects that only seem to happen to very few people.
It's why I have so much trouble finding meds I can tolerate. Hair loss (as long as it will stop) may have to be an acceptable side effect because I have so few options.
years ago on amitriptyline before bipolar diagnoses I got up to 75mg and my blood pressure was so low I was almost fainting several times a day. I'd start to black out every time I stood up.
Valproic acid: hair loss then pancreatitis (and of course weight gain, but that's common)
Effexor: pancreatitis. Absolute HELL coming off that stuff. Electric buzzing in my brain. (again weight gain but that's common.)
Nicoderm: turned my arm purple, with painful throbbing as it seemed to cut off circulation, gave chest pains when applied anywhere on chest near heart
Lithium: 600 mgs significant tremor. I also believe it has induced this more than 2 year depression. It stopped me cycling out of it, and I've stayed in depression since being put on it over 2 years ago. I've been off it for months now and still depressed.
Morphine: makes agitated and feel rage
Ativan: I've had some weird episodes on Ativan where I was out of my mind crazy. It was from taking a few mgs instead of the usual .5-1mg so was from abuse. But I was possibly psychotic. My husband had to control/restrain me.
Wellbutrin? Or increased Seroquel? Both increased on same day...hair loss and possible tachychardia. I woke up out of a dead sleep the other night with severe chest pains and pounding heart palpitations racing and pounding.
Trying to get dressed to go to emerg the pain was unbearable and I was blacking out. It stopped on the way to the hospital and every test they ran was normal. They told me that it was either anxiety or heartburn. Didn't feel like either and I"m not sure that I'd wake up with excruciating pain from anxiety...
Licorice tea (too much) : Heart palpitations
Melatonin: coudn't sleep, heart pounded, eyes fluttered open if I took a deep breathe. couldn't stay asleep at all and had the lightest sleep of my life other than when bringing newborns home for first nights...
years ago (well over 20) when I smoked marijuana, I used to get exhausted and cold, my bones and joints would all ache and my hands and halfway up my arms, feet and halfway to my knees as well as my nose would be like ice. Other people couldn't believe how cold my arms and legs were. i would huddle under a blanket, aching and freezing, wishing I could come down or fall asleep.
Alcohol is extremely dangerous and I can go completely crazy and violent on it. Or become impulsively suicidal. Very dangerous for me.
many others I can't remember, but the point is that it's hard for me to find any meds that I can take. Some of those side effects were life threatening, others were just intolerable.
